After enduring two harrowing experiences with postpartum psychosis—one following the birth of her daughter and another after a miscarriage—Aaisha faced terrifying symptoms, repeated dismissal by healthcare providers, and the near loss of both her life and her child.
Determined to break the silence and prevent others from suffering the same fate, she authored A Mom Like That: A Memoir of Postpartum Psychosis, an unflinching account of her illness, recovery, and the systemic gaps in maternal mental healthcare.
Today, she works with organizations including Postpartum Support International to spread awareness, educate providers and families, and dismantle the stigma surrounding this misunderstood condition.
